Roland has collaborated with New Balance and skateboarder Tiago Lemos to create a special edition sneaker for 808 day. Let’s delve into the details below.
Tiago Lemos, in partnership with New Balance and Roland, is set to launch a TR-808-themed design inspired by the late ’90s. The NB Numeric Tiago Lemos 808 sneakers are crafted from suede, mesh, and synthetic pigskin. They are equipped with a “REVlite” midsole for cushioning and bounce and come with round white laces for stability and security. Additionally, the sneakers include a small 808 charm to add a touch of flair.
The TR-808 was released almost 45 years ago in 1980 by the Japanese electronics company Roland. This iconic rhythm machine was instrumental in the development of hip-hop, R&B, rock, and dance music throughout the decade and beyond, featuring on hit songs such as Whitney Houston’s “I Wanna Dance With Somebody,” Outkast’s “The Way You Move,” Kanye West’s “Love Lockdown,” and more. Roland has previously collaborated with sneaker brands like Puma and Adidas, and this time there’s a new collaboration with Brazilian skateboarder Tiago Lemos. Lemos expressed his excitement about the partnership, saying, “Hip-hop has been the soundtrack for my skating, and at the heart of many classics was the 808. Collaborating with the legendary Roland 808 on my shoe is an honor.”

These 808 sneakers were just released. The NB Numeric Tiago Lemos 808 sneakers come in various unisex sizes in black. A pair is priced at $119.99 you can buy it from the official site of New Balance.
